• Nurse Practitioner, Kristine Weaver, MSN, FNP-BC, has been awarded the American Association of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) 2018 Award for Excellence in the State of Indiana.
• Nurse Practitioners can assess, diagnose and treat both acute and chronic illnesses. They promote wellness and the prevention of disease. They can order and interpret labs and diagnostics as well as prescribe medications. They can also perform many procedures including minor surgeries.
• The State Award for Nurse Practitioner Excellence, founded in 1991, recognizes a nurse practitioners in a state who demonstrates excellence in practice. • Nurse Weaver opened her own practice, “The People’s Clinic”, and successfully managed and owned the practice for 10 years.

It represents the interests of more than 234,000 NPs practicing in the U.S. today, providing a unified networking platform and advocating for their role as providers of high-quality, cost effective, comprehensive, patient-centered and personalized health care. The organization provides legislative leadership of the local, state and national levels, advancing health policy; promoting excellence in practice, education and research; and establishing standards that best serve NP patients and other health care consumers. Kris is also active in local and state Nurse Practitioner Organizations (CAPNI).
